Synopsis:
Keanu Reeves ("Sweet November", "The Replacements") and Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominee Laurence Fishburne ("Osmosis Jones", "Event Horizon") star in this visually dazzling, explosive futuristic sci-fi adventure about a man who discovers that his everyday world is the product of a complex computer-driven digital matrix that feeds on humans. In his dangerous quest to uncover the truth, he unites with a rogue band of rebels and learns that he holds the key to the survival of humanity. Directed by the Wachowski brothers ("Speed Racer") and winner of four Oscars, including Best Visual Effects, "The Matrix" is one of the 50 top grossing films of all time.
Editor's Note:
With revolutionary visuals, cyberpunk influences and a fascinating philosophical premise, "The Matrix" is often considered the best sci-fi film of the past 25 years. The only film to ever win a Visual Effects Oscar over a competing "Star Wars" installment, this high-concept extravaganza by the Wachowski brothers hasn't aged one bit on its ten-year anniversary. Multiple viewings highly recommended. So... blue pill or red pill?
